Outside Sales Representative – New Business Development

Pioneer Packaging is seeking a solutions oriented/valued added sales professional with Packaging & Distribution sales experience.


  • Minimum 3-5 yrs. packaging sales experience (retail, industrial and manufacturing)
  • Minimum 5-7 yrs. experience calling on Marketing, Research & Development, Procurement and Supply Chain
  • Education - Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate with a sense of urgency
  • Develop new accounts through prospecting
  • Develop sales plans and strategies for new business
  • Manage and develop new business at existing accounts
  • Develop trusted advisor status with customers
  • Complete weekly/monthly tracking of sales activities to include: calls, meetings, pipeline development, quotes, closes and competitive trends/information
  • Develop and give presentations to customers that demonstrates our product and service offerings
  • Establish close contact with customer’s Product Development, Engineering and Purchasing professionals to determine customer needs and position the company to satisfy those needs
  • Review specifications and other customer requirements to develop proposals
  • Recommend new products based upon customer needs/pains, market feedback, and increased sales potential
  • Support inside customer care team by providing accurate customer requirements for order entry and quote generation
  • Managing new customer projects from inception through commercialization
  • Exhibit a technical understanding of the product and service offerings
  • Ability to travel within selling area - 70%
  • Overnight travel <15%

Location: Chicago or Milwaukee

Compensation: Base Salary + Commission (unlimited earning potential)
